What is a PT yearly check-up?
Physical Therapists are movement experts. Given the opportunity, we may be able to identify potential issues and ailments before they even occur. During a PT yearly check-up your Physical Therapist with perform a complete orthopedic exam. This examination will focus on assessing your strength, range of motion, and movement patterns. Any potential issues will be identified and your therapist will provide you a custom home program. This program will be focused on improving deficits and preventing injury.
Can this replace my annual check-up with my physician?
NO! A yearly check-up with a PT is not the same as your annual check-up with your physician, and should not be considered a replacement. Primary care check-ups and physicals are a very important part of your health and well being.
Does insurance pay for a PT Check-up?
Unfortunately insurance does not pay for annual check-ups with your PT at this time.
